Oct 20, 2013-The government will begin a two-week long election security training for temporary police (Myadi) personnel from Monday.Around 45,000 people will be trained on various aspects of election security in their respective districts.Nepal Policespokesperson DIG Nawaraj Silwal said thetraining will incorporate physicalfitness, basic security lessons, skills to deal with public, risk mitigation and election code. Each Myadi policeperson will bearmed with a cane.The police headquarters on September 17 called for applications for temporary police jobs.According to the police headquarters, 2,518 temporary personnel will be deployed in Mechi zone, 3,578 in Koshi, 3,967 in Sagarmatha, 5,438 in Janakpur, 4,902 in Narayani, 2,392 in Bagmati and 3,035 in Gandaki.Similarly, 4,784 will be deployed in Lumbini, 960 in Dhaulagiri, 2,899 in Rapti, 2,727 in Bheri, 1,092 in Karnali, 2,518 in Seti and 1,629 in Mahakali.
